ADDIS ABABA — THE ETHIOPIAN HERALD Newspaper 5 May 2016: The Ethiopian and Botswanan governments have agreed to further beef up the level of their cooperation as the foreign ministers of the two countries conferred yesterday on various issues.
Foreign Minister Dr. Tedros Adhanom and his counterpart Botswanan Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Dr. Pelonomi Venson-Moibi discussed possible ways of expanding their cooperation.


Dr. Tedros noted that the historic relations between the two countries should further be strengthened. Ethiopia will open its embassy in Botswana.
He said Ethiopia has a lot to learn from Botswana’s livestock and mining sectors and share its experience with Botswana particularly in areas of health, youth empowerment and civil service operations.
The Minister Dr. Tedros also underscored the significance of forging cooperation between the two countries in terms of upholding a common position on regional and global issues of mutual concern.
Dr. Venson also emphasized on the need to strengthen the historic relations between Ethiopia and Botswana.


While commending the solidarity that the Government of Ethiopia showed, the Minister expressed her government’s readiness to work with Ethiopia in the spirit of mutual cooperation, according to Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Tewolde Mulugeta
