Office condemns ISIS vicious attacks against Ethiopian migrants

 

ADDIS ABABA — THE ETHIOPIAN HERALD Newspaper 13 MAY 2016: The Government Communication Affairs Office (GCAO) has condemned with the strongest possible terms the latest ISIS vicious and inhumane attacks against 16 Ethiopian migrants in Libya.
Briefing journalists on current affairs yesterday, GCAO Minister Getachew Reda denounced the barbaric and terror act of ISIS saying: “ Rational human beings would never think of killing innocent and unarmed people for the sake of any political and military gains.”
Noting that the government is saddened by the death of innocent Ethiopians in the hands of the deadliest terrorist group, he said that effort would be made to fighting against the perpetrators of such terror attacks together with the international community.
As to obtaining personal information of the victims of the attacks, Getachew said that the government is doing its best level to gather all the necessary information about the victims of the ruthless attacks.
He further said that fellow citizens should avoid travelling in stateless countries like Libya under any circumstances as the present situation is threatening everyone.present situation is threatening everyone.
Responding to questions about the ongoing efforts to release the abducted children from Gambella by South Sudanese gun men, Getachew noted that the governments of Ethiopia and South Sudan are working together with a view to ending the abduction in a peaceful manner and bringing the criminals to justice as well.
Regarding supplying humanitarian assistance to El Nino and La Nina victims, Getachew stated that so far the government has been doing everything in its capacity to avert the disasters related to the climate change.
Minister Getechaw also gave detailed responses to various questions on current issues and affairs to the journalists.
