Jiangsu to further investment ties with Ethiopia =================================== ADDIS ABABA –THE ETHIOPIAN HERALD Newspaper 3 June 2016: The Ethiopian government and Chinese Jiangsu Province signed Wednesday three Memorandum of Understanding which would enhance cooperation on investment, capacity building and establishment of industrial parks. The agreements were made by the Ethiopian Investment Commissioner Fitsum Arega and Jiangsu Province Company representatives at a program held at the Prime Minister Office. Accordingly, one of the MoU was aimed at enhancing the cooperation on investment promotion and capacity building, was signed by Commissioner Fitsum Arega and Jiangsu Development and Reform Commission Director General Chen Zhenning. As per the agreement, the two sides would work together on investment and industrial parks development and share experiences as the province is well experienced in manufacturing sector. Ethiopia would get support and training from the Chinese companies on ways of managing industrial parks. The agreement will also help strengthen the Eastern Industry Park which was constructed by the Jiangsu Province, according to Commissioner Arega. The Commission signed another agreement with Jiangsu AB Group Corporation representative Xuan Binglog which enable the later to invest in the textile sector. Commissioner Arega has also signed an agreement with Jiangsu Zheng Bai Electric Company General Manager Deng Xuejun. The agreement has focused on ways of partnering in areas of machinery production. The Chinese delegation held talks with Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn on various issues.
