Dr. Workneh signs Book of Condolence for Fidel Castro

Foreign Affairs Minister, Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, signed the Book of Condolence for Fidel Castro Ruz, former President of the Republic of Cuba, on Thursday at the residence of the Ambassador of Cuba to Ethiopia.

On arrival, Dr. Workneh was welcomed by the Ambassador and other embassy staff.

Dr. Workneh expressed his condolences to the Government and People of the Republic of Cuba “on the passing of the great revolutionary leader, H.E Fidel Castro Ruz”.

He said the former Cuban leader was “a great friend of Ethiopia who stood resolutely on the side of the Ethiopian people during their struggle to defend their sovereignty.”

The Foreign Minister said Fidel Castro would “always be remembered as an inspirational and true revolutionary leader of our time.”
