Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn Ethiopia appreciates Uganda’s firm stance on fair utilization of River Nile.

During his stay in Uganda, the Premier conferred with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on issues of bilateral concern including the utilization of the Nile waters.

On the occasion, Hailemariam commended Uganda’s endeavor to implement the Nile Basin Cooperative Framework Agreement on fair utilization of the Nile by all riparian countries.

Besides expanding bilateral collaboration, Ethiopia and Uganda have been working together on regional peace and security, Hailemariam said, mentioning Somalia as a case in point.

President Yoweri Museveni for his part said Uganda and Ethiopia have a similar stance over the Nile, which is promoting equal benefits for downstream countries.

While in Uganda, Hailemariam paid a visit to the livestock raising center of Uganda, which is administered by President Museveni.
