Singapore and Ethiopia have started implementing agreements signed earlier on education, information technology, industrial development and trade sectors.
Deputy Prime Minister Hean said his country has still the desire to work on mutually beneficial new areas.
The two nations had signed an agreement to avoid double taxation that would strengthen trade and investment cooperation at the Ethio -Singapore Trade Conference held in Addis Ababa last year.
The economic cooperation of the two countries has been growing since then, he said, adding that the direct flight Ethiopian Airlines begins after a month will help further bolster the relation.
The Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister said his country will work extensively with Ethiopia in the fields of tourism, agro-processing, industry and human resources development.
The opportunity for tourism development in Ethiopia is enormous, he added.
Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen said on his part Ethiopia’s relation with south east Asian countries like Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore is improving.
He added that Ethiopia wants to work closely with Singapore, which is one of the leading countries in trained human resources and urbanization, in the spheres of trade, tourism and technology sectors.
