Ethiopia Priority Market for Dev’t Cooperation, Says Czech Republic

 

Czech Republic has selected Ethiopia as priority market for development cooperation, Foreign Affairs State Minister Martin Tlapa disclosed.

The Czech State Minister held talks today with his Ethiopian counterpart Hirut Zemene.

State Minister Martin said “you [Ethiopia] will be among the few countries the Czech Republic invests in development cooperation.”

According to him, this will move forward the two countries to do business together.

This will play pivotal role in bringing knowledge transfer in the various sectors between the two countries, he added.

State Minister Hirut Zemene briefed the Czech State Minister about Ethiopia’s investment potential and the favorable environment for foreign direct investment.

She urged Czech investors to enhance their engagement in Ethiopia to boost trade and investment relations between the two countries.

Noting that the Czech Republic has rich experiences in agriculture, cement and glass production, the State Minister expressed Ethiopia keenness to share experiences in these sectors.

The two sides have reached an understanding to work in institutional capacity building, science and technology and infrastructure development among others.
