Ethiopia’s 2017/2018 budget apt to drive rising economy – expert
Ethiopia’s 2017/2018 national budget, roughly 14 Billion USD as approved by the Parliament, is said to be appropriate to drive the country’s burgeoning economy.
Zemedeneh Engida, an economist expert, says the budget, almost 10 per cent higher than the previous year’s, implies Ethiopia’s ambition to join the middle income group.
Ethiopia’s budget allocation, the expert says, is tailored at apportioning money primarily for the most pressing sectors.
Concerning Ethiopia’s low per capita income in comparison with its expanding economy, Zemedeneh says the trend is healthy.
He is pretty optimistic that Ethiopia is likely to join middle income status by 2025.
