The assistance will be used to finance the upgrading of the Addis Ababa – Chida road.
The Minister said that Japan will continue its support to Ethiopia’s development endeavors in a sustained manner through Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The Mister also explained that the continued efforts of encouraging Japanese companies to invest in Ethiopia will be further consolidated.
The Japanese Minister has also affirmed his country’s commitment to further strength the multi- sectoral relationship with Ethiopia.
The Minister said his country will continue to support its efforts to Ethiopia, noting that the Horn African nation is playing important role in this regard.
Ethiopia’s Foreign Minister Workineh Gebeyehu for his part urged the need to further enhance the existing ties between the two countries.
Noting that the Ethiopian government is striving to attract more foreign direct investment, Workneh urged the Minister to encourage more Japanese investors to come here.
Briefing the Japanese Minister about the huge investment that the government of Ethiopia has been invested on infrastructure development, Workneh said Japanese investors would benefit if they invest in the sector.
It was recalled that the two countries started diplomatic ties in the early 1930’s.
