Gov’t Working to Solve Problems of Displaced Citizens ==== === ====

The government is undertaking various activities to solve the problems displaced citizens are facing following the conflict in bordering areas of Oromia and Somali regional states, according to Government Communication Affairs Office (GCAO).
Efforts are underway to bring those who have committed human rights violation to justice, it was pointed out.

A delegation of senior government officials led by Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen visited the displaced citizens in Dire Dawa and Harar cities, as well as Hamaresa and Babile shelters.
Briefing journalists yesterday, GCAO Minister Negeri Lencho said over 100,000 people are displaced from their homes leaving behind properties.

The government is organizing the establishment of a nation-wide task force to solve the problem in a sustained manner, the Minister said.
Dr.  Negeri emphasized the direction set to bring reconciliation and peace among the people of the two regions as a top priority.
In this respect, leaders of the two regions should discharge their responsibilities in accordance with the direction set by the government, he underlined.

Federal and state security forces are working jointly to arrest those people who were involved in crimes leading to loss of life and property.
