In the panel discussion held under the theme “Global and Deal Trade: Making Globalization Works for Everyone”, H.E. the Minister said countries can benefit a lot from this global partnership as it focuses on enhancing social dialogue and sound industrial relations. Ethiopia, which has ratified all the ILO core conventions relating to fundamental labour rights and the Tripartite Consultation Convention, is striving to promote the key attributes of labour, based on the fundamental labour rights at work added the Minister.

He further said that a tripartite structure is organized in Ethiopia where by the Government, employers and workers come together to discuss issues in order to identify a shared purpose, and mechanisms are put in place which promote workplace cooperation with the aim to secure safe working environment.
Ethiopia, according to the Minister, recognises the importance of global partnership and strong national ownership for the effective implementation of the SDGs which are crucial for eradicating poverty, achieving broad-based inclusive economic growth and realising the transformational agenda.
