Over 130 Hotels Readied to Accommodate AU Summit Participants ====

 Some 132 up to standard hotels in Addis Ababa are ready to receive participants to the upcoming 30th African Leaders Summit, according to Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Tourist Services Quality Assurance and Standards Director at the Ministry, Tewodros Derb, told ENA that the ministry is working with hotels in Addis Ababa to provide quality service for the participants of the summit.

The ministry has sent a list of hotels that have met the standard to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was learned.

The Director added that the ministry will hold discussions with hotel owners and other concerned bodies on Monday to encourage them to provide quality service at reasonable price and build the image of the country, and to also coordinate utility services as well as security.

He called on hotel owners to seize this opportunity to attract future market by providing quality service at reasonable price.

General Manager of the InterContinental Hotel, Yilkal Bekalu, and Capital Hotel CEO Frank Stroalberg told ENA that they have finalized preparations to welcome the participants and reservations have been made for some customers.

Yilkal said, “As we always do annually, we will prepare the rooms and make reservations. We will make special preparation in terms of food and accommodation than at any other time and welcome them.”

CEO Frank Stroalberg on his part said “everything is good and the hotel is ready to satisfy customers by providing quality service.”

Some 90 percent of the bedrooms of Intercontinental Hotel and 75 percent of Capital Hotel bedrooms are reserved.

The AU summit to be held from January 22-30, 2018 and is expected to be attended by African and other leaders as well as representatives of continental and international organizations.
