Conference of ANDM Central Committee underway in Bahir Dar
The Central Committee of the Amhara Nation Democratic Movement (ANDM) has started evaluating the development, good governance and democratic activities it carried out during the past fifteen years to seek solutions for problems encountered in the process.
The discussion, which has been underway in Bahir Dar since Tuesday, will be guided by a document issued by the Council of the Ethiopian Peoples’ Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) to deeply reform the organization.
ANDM Central Committee Office Head, Alemnew Mekonnen told the press that the conference will evaluate the activities of the movement in the regional state over the last fifteen years.
The conference is expected to formulate the experiences gained in the period, identify the problems encountered and forward directions for resolving them, according to the head.
It is also expected to examine the development and democratic processes, the plan, human resources, pre-implementation works for the upcoming Ethiopian year as well as the financial performance of the organization.
Members of ANDM Central Committee, chairpersons of youth and women leagues, and 22 veteran leaders that have served for over four terms as central committee members are participating in the conference.
The conference is scheduled to end on September 10, 2016.
