The Oromia Regional State said lives were lost and properties were damaged in some areas of the state following an erroneous propaganda disseminated by some groups about the violence at Irrecha celebration.

These forces burned trucks and machinery of Dangote Cement Factory in Ada Berga woreda, West Shoa zone as well as bureaus of seven sectoral office , four vehicles and shops in Dugda woreda, Esat Shoa zone.

They also burned court, custom and government owned vehicles as well as allegedly freed prisoners after burning police station in Bule Hora, West Guji zone.

Lives were lost following the conflict occurred between security forces and the forces of destruction in Bule Hora. The regional state expressed its condolences over the loss of lives.

The regional state said it will investigate and reveal the number of causalities.

In a related development, in an interview he had with FBC yesterday, Fekadu Tessema, head of the regional state’s communication affairs bureau, said the government will bring to justice those responsible for the violence.

Fekadu urged the public to join hand with the government in the fight against these forces of destruction.
