Ethiopia, Russia discuss regional, global issues of common concern

 

Ethiopian State Minister of Foreign Affairs Hirut Zemene and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov have discussed regional and global issues of common concern.

According to MoFA Spokesperson, Tewolde Mulugeta, consultations covered topics including cooperation during Ethiopia’s membership to UN Security Council from 2017-2018.

The two sides discussed the prospects of Ethio-Russian cooperation at the UN. They expressed interest in the constructive development of Ethio-Russian cooperation on mutual matters that are on the agenda of UNSC.

The sides agreed to boost exchange of opinions on different international matters, including at UN SC, with consideration of mutual interests and priorities.
