The 106th International Women’s Day, March 8 has been marked in Ethiopia.

Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, present at an event in Addis Ababa, calls on the public to help exert efforts in empowering women.

 

On the event held in Addis Ababa Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn reminded that as women play a pivotal role in the national transformation, men need to stand with them for their success.

Ethiopian Women and Children Affairs Minister Demitu Hambissa told EBC that women should be empowered so that they will contribute for the development of the nation.

International partners like USAID and UN Women reaffirmed their commitment to work with Ethiopian Ministry of Women and Children Affairs in supporting women for a better life.

This year the international Women’s Day has been celebrated undre a theme of ‘Be Bold for Change’.
