Premier, UN Rights Chief Discuss on Human Right Issues in Ethiopia

Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn conferred with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein on human rights situation.

 During their discussion the two sides exchanged views on human right issues and challenges that Ethiopia faces.

They also discussed on the investigative report issued by the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission about the unrest occurred in parts of Oromia, Amhara and South Nations, Nationalities and Peoples States.

They also agreed to work together to protect human rights in the country.

The High Commissioner has since held discussions with Dr. Addisu Gebre-Egziabher, Commissioner of the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) and political parties.

At the end of his visit, on Thursday, the High Commissioner is expected to hold a press conference.
