PM Hailemriam Holds Discussion with Japanese Business Delegation

Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn met today with 20-businessperson delegation led by Dr. Katsumi Hirano, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Executive Vice-President.

The Premier told members of the delegation that he will extend all the necessary support they require.

He also encouraged the delegations to invest in light manufacturing, which is a high priority to the country.

JETRO Executive Vice-President, Dr. Katsumi Hirano said he is happy to bring the 20 Japanese companies after the completion of the Special Zone being built for them at Bole-Lemi II Industrial Park.

According to him, the delegation had a chance to visit Modjo Dry Port and the new depot built at Bole International Airport. The Executive Vice-President said “each company, I believe, have good impression”.

“This kind of infrastructure development is a very, very good promotion for us,” he added.

The companies are composed of textile, electronics and manufacturing, among others.

Dr. Hirano said “they will find good business opportunity in Ethiopia.”

The Executive Vice-President pointed out that the Japanese companies are determined to invest in Ethiopia and the discussion with the government will continue to further take steps for the Japanese presence in Ethiopia.
