Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley discussed on strengthening the bilateral cooperation of the two countries on Monday.
The discussion was focused on ways and means of solving the crisis in South Sudan and other parts of the region, said Hirut Zemen State Minister for Foreign Affairs.
They exchanged ideas on how to find a lasting solution to the conflict in the world’s youngest nation.
During the discussion, the Premier has given the Ambassador the detailed account of what IGAD has been doing in the past month to revitalize the peace process and he appreciated the support from U.S. in this regard.
Moreover, they have discussed on ways of expanding the economic cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Haley requested the Premier to further improve operational issues to create more conducive environment in the economic cooperation between the two countries.
Hailemariam ensured the Ambassador that a number of things are underway to improve the economic endeavors of his country and attract more FDI.
During her stay in Ethiopia, Ambassador Haley is expected to pay a visit to the refugee camps in the Gambela regional state.
