Government Communications Affairs Minister, Dr. Negeri Lencho said nations, nationalities and peoples of the country should recall their past during the celebration.

All the successes achieved so far enable us to maintain the momentum and strengthen the successes that the country is registering, the Minister added.

The anniversary paves the way for the nations, nationalities and peoples of the country to renew their unity in realizing their common project of re-birth of the country, Dr. Negeri noted.

The Minister called on citizens not to co-operate with extremist forces of evil who always want to take advantage of the slightest shortcomings of the government to create chaos.

Stating that there are media outlets that knowingly or unknowingly disseminate information that fuel violence, he urged the concerned parties to refrain from such acts and stop playing divisive roles by hyping ethnic conflicts.

Regarding the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), Dr. Negeri stressed that Ethiopia will continue its long-standing principle of not harming neighboring countries or any other country.

He noted that GERD is crucial for the development of nations, nationalities and peoples of Ethiopia.
