Managing Director of International Monetary Fund (IMF), Ms.Christine Lagarde, arrived in Addis Ababa yesterday.

Managing Director of International Monetary Fund (IMF), Ms.Christine Lagarde, arrived in Addis Ababa yesterday.

Upon her arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, she was welcomed by Ethiopian Minister of Finance and Economic Cooperation Dr Abraham Tekeste and other high level government officials.

During her stay here, the Managing Director will meet with different high-level government officials, including President Mulatu Teshome and Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn.

Moreover, she will deliver speeches at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and African Union (AU) as well as visit the Eastern Industry Zone in Dukem and Hamlin Fistula Hospitals.

Ethiopia joined IMF, an organization of 189 countries, in 1945.
