The Oromo Peoples’ Democratic Organization (OPDO) said the reshuffle that it has made today is aimed at to consolidate the ongoing reforms in the region and the country.
The Central Committee of OPDO has made a reshuffle in the leadership of the party in its meeting it held today.
Accordingly, the Committee elected Dr. Abiy Ahmed Chairperson and Lemma Megerssa deputy, unanimously.
In his presser this afternoon in connection to the reshuffle, Kasahun Gofe, Head of Public Opinion and Publicity at the Office of Central Committee said the party made the reshuffle to intensify the ongoing struggle of OPDO and the people of the region.
He affirmed that the reshuffle is intended to enable OPDO properly discharge its responsibility at the regional and country level and promoting leadership that would shoulder the responsibility to end the crisis in the country.
Noting that the Central Committee during its 10 day deliberations has taken major reform actions, Kasahun said efforts aimed at addressing public queries is expected to be consolidated with these leaders.
